Misti Rutherford found out at birth that her daughter, Adlei, was born with a left complete cleft lip and palate. After giving birth at a hospital near her hometown of Neosho Falls, Kan., she learned of the many implications Adlei would have with feeding, speech and growth. Adlei has undergone three surgeries and is currently under the care of Patrick Christopher MD, DDS, with The Pediatric Center at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
