Belton Regional Medical Center earns Gold Seal of Approval® for Primary Stroke Center Accreditation
Belton, Mo. — Belton Regional Medical Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Primary Stroke Center Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a healthcare organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care. Belton Regional Medical Center is part of HCA Midwest Health, Kansas City’s largest healthcare provider.
Belton Regional Medical Center underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review on November 8, 2024. During the visit, a Joint Commission Reviewer evaluated compliance with Primary Stroke Center Accreditation standards, including treatment and management of emergent stroke symptoms, the environment of care, leadership, and post-stroke care and recovery education.
The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help healthcare organizations measure, assess and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.
