Rehabilitation and therapy services we offer
All our inpatient rehabilitation and therapy programs are located within major medical centers, giving you access to other medical specialists, advanced diagnostics and treatment technologies you may need to reach your new goals.
Inpatient rehabilitation program
Our highly trained therapists provide a range of services to promote recovery and rebuild skills. For over 20 years, our inpatient program has been helping people like you accomplish the following:
- Encourage the body to master small tasks critical to everyday independence, such as getting out of bed, grasping a fork and knife and driving a car
- Reach new heights and develop new skills
- Retrain the nerves, muscles and joints so they "talk to each other" again or in new ways
Depending on the scope and severity of your condition, you may participate in a combination of therapies, which can include physical, occupational and speech therapies. However your treatment plan ends up developing, you’ll typically work with our skilled specialists for three hours a day, five days per week.
Occupational therapy
Certain injuries can hinder your ability to complete daily tasks, such as eating, dressing or bathing. Through our programs, our experienced occupational therapists will help you restore the skills and mobility you need to regain your independence. Your therapy may include a variety of techniques that are designed to enhance your gross and fine motor skills, helping you conserve energy and retrain your cognitive skills.
Physical therapy
Our physical therapy program is intended to help correct and prevent short- or long-term problems that interfere with everyday activities. To help strengthen and train your muscles, your therapy may include a combination of balance, endurance and strength training exercises, among other advanced techniques.
Pediatric physical therapy and rehabilitation
At select hospitals, we provide specialized physical therapy to children with certain medical conditions, or who are recovering from surgery. Our pediatric physical therapists are specially trained and work with your child’s primary care physician to provide rehabilitative services designed to restore mobility and decrease pain.
Additionally, our pediatric occupational therapists work with children who have, or are at risk of having, developmental delays, and have trouble functioning in one or more areas of their lives.
Speech and swallowing therapies
Our speech-language pathologists use advanced, specialized equipment and collaborate with other specialists to help diagnose and treat speech, swallowing or reasoning impairments. Your therapy may include various swallowing, tongue-strengthening or breathing exercises and techniques depending on your unique needs.
