Breast cancer detection
Our women's health program is supported by breast specialists who offer high-quality diagnostic and interventional breast care. We ensure patients receive thorough screenings and advanced treatments for breast cancer.
We are committed to detecting breast cancer in its earliest and most treatable stages. That's why our imaging specialists use digital and 3D mammography. 3D mammograms are especially beneficial to women with dense breast tissue, which can make cancer more difficult to detect on imaging exams.
If breast cancer is diagnosed, our specialists offer several treatment options, including chemotherapy and breast surgical procedures. Our patients also benefit from our lymphedema treatment program.
Colorectal cancer detection and care
Colorectal cancer is a common form of cancer that does not typically present symptoms in its early stages. That's why we recommend and perform routine colonoscopies. If colon cancer is detected during a procedure, our colorectal specialists collaborate with our oncologists and surgeons to form a comprehensive treatment plan.
Our cancer treatments
Our physicians use specialized screenings, diagnostic and laboratory tests and imaging services to identify cancer. If cancer is detected, our cancer specialists provide a range of treatments, including:
Biotherapy and immunotherapy
Biotherapy is a treatment that uses living substances—that may be a natural part of the body or created in a lab—to treat cancer and other diseases. This treatment works by stimulating and restoring the immune system's ability to fight infection and disease. Immunotherapy is a type of biotherapy that uses the body's own immune system to fight illness.
Chemotherapy is a common and effective treatment for many types of cancer. This treatment uses powerful cancer-fighting drugs, hormones and immuno-stimulants that stops cancer from reproducing and growing.
Infusion therapy is when a patient receives medication through a needle or catheter, usually intravenously (IV). This type of therapy can be used to deliver nutrition, fluids or medications. Infusion therapy is often used with chemotherapy and biotherapy.
In our commitment to guide patients throughout their cancer journey, patients have access to a dedicated patient navigator. Our navigators are oncology-trained nurses and serve as points of contact for patients with breast, lung, gastrointestinal and head and neck cancers.
Our patient navigators offer the following:
- Cancer rehabilitation information
- Cancer support resources
- Diagnoses and treatment information
- Educational resources
- Relevant clinical research trial information
We offer genetic testing to patients who are concerned about their family's history of cancer. Our genetic counselors provide on-site cancer risk assessments and offer personalized information and counseling regarding genetic influences and specific cancer risks. We also develop targeted screening and prevention plans to increase chances for early detection.
