Adlei Minor
Adlei was born with a cleft lip and palate, but after surgery as a baby, is a happy and healthy child.
Adlei was born with a left complete cleft lip and palate, which can have many implications with feeding, speech and growth. At times, scarring may occur which can affect the nose size and restrict the airflow through one or both nostrils. Her mom, Misty, was having trouble finding a provider who could perform surgery to open Adlei’s left nostril to increase airflow and release scar tissue which was also cosmetically affecting her nose. After consulting a friend who recently had a baby born with a cleft lip, Misty learned about fellowship-trained Cleft and Craniofacial Surgeon Patrick Christopher MD, DDS.
“It was like a breath of fresh air when Dr. Christopher said he would see us. It was only a short month after our first appointment when Adlei was scheduled for her surgery. We have absolutely loved our experience so far with OPRMC. We went there for a surgery and felt like we came out with a new family, people that are going to continue to be there for Adlei and us for many years.”
Adlei is now six weeks post op and she is able to breathe normally through her left nostril!
