Menorah Medical Center names Janie Thompson as Chief Operating Officer
Leawood native returns to Johnson County after serving as COO at Georgetown, Texas, hospital.
Today, Menorah Medical Center—part of HCA Midwest Health, Kansas City's largest healthcare provider—announced that Janie Thompson has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO).
The Leawood native returns to Johnson County after serving in various roles at HCA Healthcare’s St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, which is part of the St. David’s Healthcare system in Georgetown, Texas, most recently as COO. During her tenure, she developed and launched the first cardiovascular catheterization lab at the hospital, which added a new service line and advanced capabilities from diagnostic to interventional. Additionally, Thompson expanded imaging services, including 24/7 CT capabilities, weekend MRI coverage, and upgrading a new CT scanner and fluoroscopy suite.

Thompson earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and a master’s in healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio. She is a graduate of HCA Healthcare’s Executive Development Program (EDP) class of 2022, a cohort participant in HCA’s Early Careerist Collaborative (ECC) 202 and a graduate of the HCA Executive Residency Program (ERP) class of 2019.
