Research Medical Center--part of HCA Midwest Health, Kansas City's leading healthcare provider--welcomed Giving Hope & Help for its Sixth Annual Valentine LOVE Bags 4 Cancer Event.

Volunteers distributed LOVE Bags filled with toiletries and inspirational items to patients fighting cancer in order to uplift them and offer support.

Jessica McClellan, MSM, Giving Hope & Help's founder and president, was inspired to create the LOVE Bags initiative in honor of her niece who battled Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

"I can't imagine spending special days like Valentine's Day in the hospital," says McClellan, who launched Giving Hope & Help in 2013. "Patients fighting cancer need to be
encouraged so we want to give hope and help and uplift them."

"Through this community outreach endeavor, Jessica and several volunteers positively impact the spirit of our patients, their families and our staff," says Research Medical Center Chief Executive Officer Ashley McClellan, FACHE, MBA, MHA. "We welcome patient support that aligns with Research Medical Center's commitment to the care and improvement of human life, above all else. The LOVE bags and the visit from these cheerful women always bring messages of compassion, hope and indeed, love."

Giving Hope & Help receives donations from individuals and companies and have created multiple partnerships with businesses that have donated items for the gift bags
for patients. They are seeking additional individual and corporate partnerships to fund the ongoing LOVE bag giveaways. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. For more information, visit Giving Hope and Help.
