Healthgrades Specialty Excellence Awards recognize the top 10% of hospitals across the country in 17 specialty care areas. Among those in the top 10%, the very best hospitals are named among the top 100 in the country. Overland Park Regional Medical Center received the following Healthgrades awards:

  • One of Healthgrades America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care™ in 2023
  • One of Healthgrades America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Coronary Intervention™ in 2023

This is not the first time that Overland Park Regional Medical Center has been recognized for excellence in cardiovascular care. Fortune and IBM Watson Health named it as one of the nation’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals in December 2021.

Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 31 of the most common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals across the country to identify the top-performing hospitals for specialty care. This year’s analysis revealed significant variation in patient outcomes between hospitals with a 2023 Healthgrades Specialty Excellence Award and hospitals that did not receive the award.
