HCA Midwest Health System announces John Myers has been appointed as Regional Vice President of Cancer Services for HCA Midwest Health System. Myers continues his work in the arena of cancer care services, moving from his recent role as Executive Director – Oncology, Radiology, and Lab Services for another Kansas City hospital.
HCA Midwest Health System is the Kansas City area’s largest healthcare provider and private sector employer, consisting of 10 hospitals, outpatient centers, clinics, physician practices, surgery centers and more than 9,000 employees. Midwest Physicians, part of HCA Midwest, consists of practices located throughout the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area and is staffed with experienced primary care and multi-specialty physicians. In addition, HCA Midwest Health System and its hospitals provide an array of other innovative services to meet the healthcare needs of the greater Kansas City area. HCA Midwest Health System has invested more than $600 million to enhance and expand patient services since April 2003.

Since 2004, Myers has worked in multiple areas of medical services from executive director of oncology and radiology to interim director for heart and vascular services, as well as director of clinical services and product line development, regional director of cancer care center services, and director of diagnostic services. His broad expertise includes development and implementation of a strategic plan that targeted growth opportunities, significantly increasing revenue efficiency and quality, oncology service line development and strategy and working collaboratively with practice and physician leadership to support one of the first stand-alone interventional oncology labs in the U.S. Myers has also provided management for start-up of a pathology lab.
Myers is a certified Radiology Administrator through the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators. His professional memberships include the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Association of Community Cancer Centers, the Radiology Business Managers Association and American Healthcare Radiology Administrators.
Myers earned an MBA in Healthcare Management from Regis University, Denver, Colo., and a BA in Healthcare Management from Ottawa University, Overland Park, Kan.
