Explaining the new RSV shot
Dr. A. Gabriel Schifman discusses a new shot that can help reduce the risk of RSV in infants.
RSV can be dangerous for infants and young children. Each year in the United States, about 80,000 children younger than 5 years are hospitalized due to RSV infection and it’s also the leading cause of hospitalizations among children less than one years old.
Dr. A. Gabriel Schifman, a pediatric emergency room physician and medical director of the Pediatric ER at Overland Park Regional Medical Center — a part of HCA Midwest Health, chats with Kansas City Mom Collective about a new shot that can help reduce the risk of RSV in infants.
