Riggins brings more than a decade of experience in various financial positions at HCA Healthcare facilities throughout the country

INDEPENDENCE, MO. — Centerpoint Medical Center — part of HCA Midwest Health, Kansas City’s largest healthcare provider — today announced that Zach Riggins has been appointed as chief financial officer (CFO). An experienced financial and business leader, Riggins brings more than a decade of experience in various financial positions at HCA Healthcare facilities throughout the country.

Riggins served the past three years as CFO for HCA Florida Citrus Hospital in Inverness, Fla., where his responsibilities included financial oversight, capital deployment, throughput supervision and management of several key functional areas. During his time there, the facility saw improved financial metrics, a GME program that more than doubled in size, and reduced length of stay for ED patients. Prior to this role, Riggins worked for multiple HCA Healthcare facilities in Virginia, Indiana, and Tennessee in such positions as associate CFO, controller, assistant controller, and staff accountant. In these positions, Riggins gained a breadth of financial management, strategic planning, and operational experience overseeing various service lines, expansion projects, staff recruitment and retention efforts, and process and productivity improvement initiatives.

“Zach’s outstanding leadership, healthcare expertise, and outcomes-oriented approach, combined with his passion for the health and well-being of the community, is an asset to Centerpoint Medical Center,” said CEO John McDonald. “He will help us further elevate the exceptional care we provide our patients.”

“I am excited to join Centerpoint Medical Center and be part of this hospital that serves the community with compassionate and high-quality healthcare,” Riggins said. “I look forward to work alongside and build on the excellence created by the many dedicated professionals who care for patients.”

Riggins earned two bachelor’s degrees – one in accounting and one in finance – and an MBA from the University of Tennessee. He is also a certified public accountant.
