BELTON, MO. — (March 19, 2021) — Belton Regional Medical Center—part of HCA Midwest Health, Kansas City’s leading and most comprehensive healthcare provider—has named Allison Cain, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, CCRN, as chief nursing officer. Cain comes to Belton Regional Medical Center from another HCA hospital, Rapides Regional Medical Center, in Alexandria, Louisiana, where she served as Associate Chief Nursing Officer since 2018.
Accomplished in patient and employee satisfaction, Cain’s dedicated efforts have earned her a reputation as an inspiring and effective nurse professional. Cain began her career with HCA Healthcare in 2008 as a nurse in the Medical ICU at Rapides Regional Medical Center. Since then, she has honed her leadership skills while serving as Medical ICU Nurse Manager and Director of Medical Surgical/Telemetry before being appointed Associate Chief Nursing Officer.
During her tenure with Rapides Regional Medical Center, Cain helped drive the hospital’s employee engagement scores to rank No.1 among similar sized HCA Healthcare hospitals for six consecutive years. She also led nursing engagement scores to the top ranking among similar sized HCA Healthcare hospitals in 2018 and 2019. Cain played a significant role in helping Rapides Regional Medical Center become an American Nurses Credentialing Center Designated Pathway to Excellence hospital and also helped lead ICU and MedSurg to earn HCA Healthcare Unit of Distinction awards for multiple years.

Cain earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Northwestern State in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She continued her education by earning a Master of Science in nursing in executive practice and healthcare leadership from the Research College of Nursing in Kansas City. She is currently working toward her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree through Chamberlin University. Cain has also completed the HCA Executive Development Program.
