Keith Zimmerman, FACHE

President

Keith Zimmerman, FACHE, was appointed president of HCA Midwest Health in June 2022 to oversee the health system’s seven hospitals and numerous physician practices, urgent care centers, ambulatory surgery centers and other sites of care in the Greater Kansas City area. A 30-plus-year healthcare veteran, Keith previously served HCA Healthcare’s North Texas Division as chief executive officer for Medical City Arlington and Medical City Children’s Hospital, as well as leading business development efforts for Medical City Dallas Hospital and Medical City Children’s Hospital. Prior to joining HCA Healthcare, Keith held executive leadership roles in operations and business development for several regional and national healthcare providers. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Louisiana and an MBA from Regis University. He is board certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).


Miah Stutts

Chief Financial Officer

Miah Stutts joined HCA Midwest Health in 2023 as chief financial officer after serving in the same role for St. David’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas, which included St. David’s Hospital, St. David’s Rehabilitation Hospital, St. David’s Georgetown Hospital and Heart Hospital of Austin. An HCA Healthcare veteran with nearly 15 years of healthcare financial leadership experience, Miah has also served in the chief financial officer roles for HCA Virginia Health System’s Northern Virginia market, Medical City Denton and Medical City Lewisville. In addition, she spent several years as controller and vice president of finance at Medical City Dallas, and she served as a financial audit manager for HCA Healthcare in Nashville. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Louisiana State University and is a certified public accountant.


Kimberly Megow, MD, MBA, FACHE

Chief Medical Officer

Kimberly Megow, MD, MBA, FACHE, joined HCA Midwest Health in 2018 as chief medical officer to oversee clinical quality and safety efforts throughout the health system’s hospitals and numerous sites of care. Prior to this role, she served in chief medical officer roles at Corpus Christi Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare’s Gulf Coast Division, as well as South Georgia Medical Center, a nonprofit community health system. Dr. Megow spent nearly 20 years in private practice as a pediatrician before moving into healthcare administration. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Valdosta State University, a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts. She is also board certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).


Amber Boes, RN, MSN

Division Chief Nursing Executive

Amber Boes, RN, MSN, was named division chief nursing executive in 2021 to oversee all nursing operations and the 3,000-plus nursing staff throughout HCA Midwest Health. Amber began her HCA Midwest Health career in 2004 and has built nearly 20 years of clinical and leadership experience in various roles throughout the health system – including serving as chief nursing officer for Centerpoint Medical Center and Lee’s Summit Medical Center, as well as associate chief nursing officer for Research Medical Center. During her career, Amber has worked as a bedside nurse, nurse manager and director of various specialty clinical areas. Amber earned a bachelor’s degree in corporate wellness from Northwest Missouri State University and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the Research College of Nursing/Rockhurst University.


Anna Backman, MBA, SPHR

Regional Vice President, Human Resources

Anna Backman, MBA, SPHR, has served as HCA Midwest Health’s regional vice president of Human Resources since 2008 and leads the HR teams who support more than 10,000 colleagues throughout the health system’s hospitals, physician practices, urgent care centers, ambulatory surgery centers and other sites of care. She joined HCA Healthcare in 1998 and has nearly 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She spent 24 of those years serving in various human resources leadership roles within HCA Healthcare, including 10 years at Tulane Health System in New Orleans, Louisiana. Anna earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in international relations from Florida State University and an MBA from Loyola University.


Holly King

Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning

Holly King has served as HCA Midwest Health’s senior vice president of strategic planning since 2019 and oversees the strategic growth and operational improvement of the system’s hospitals, physician practices and other sites of care. For more than 30 years, she’s served in senior leadership roles within the organization, including overseeing cardiovascular service line development, planning and business development, and performance management. During this time, she also served as an adjunct instructor for Avila University’s MBA Program. Prior to joining HCA Midwest Health (and its predecessor Health Midwest) in 1990, Holly was a senior consultant with KPMG Peat Marwick Main & Co. and director of marketing services for MedAmerica Health Systems. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wittenberg University and an MBA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.


Andrew Darbonne

Controller

Andrew Darbonne joined HCA Midwest Health in 2023 as controller after serving in the same role for HCA Healthcare’s Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, for two years. Prior to that role, Andrew served three years as assistant controller for HCA Healthcare’s Far West Division, where he helped oversee financial aspects for the division’s eight hospitals throughout Nevada and California. A healthcare industry veteran with a decade of financial management experience, Andrew also served in financial leadership roles at healthcare facilities in Louisiana before joining HCA Healthcare. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and an MBA from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
