Research Medical Center awarded Advanced Comprehensive Cardiac Center Certification

Research Medical Center met nine rigorous cardiovascular standards to earn the most comprehensive Joint Commission certification.

Kansas City, Mo. — Research Medical Center — part of HCA Midwest Health, Kansas City’s largest healthcare provider — has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check mark for Comprehensive Cardiac Center Certification following a rigorous, unannounced site visit in December 2023. During the visit, Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with related certification standards of the Research Medical Center Cardiovascular Program.

The Comprehensive Cardiac Center Certification encompasses nine service lines: acute coronary syndrome, percutaneous coronary intervention, diagnostic heart catheterization, electrophysiology, structural heart, heart failure, cardiac rehab, cardiovascular surgery, cardiogenic shock, and resuscitation.

“This designation by The Joint Commission truly demonstrates the expertise and collaboration of our entire heart and vascular team and their commitment to excellence at every touch point in the continuum of care,” said Research Medical Center Chief Medical Officer Julian Yang, MD, MBA.
