Overland Park, Kansas — HCA Midwest Health, Kansas City’s leading healthcare system and largest provider of services for women and babies, announces two well-known practices merging with Kansas City Women’s Clinic, providing greater access to OB/GYN care. Kansas City Women’s Clinic was founded in 1953 and has served patients in both Kansas and Missouri for decades.

As part of the vision for HCA Midwest Health to improve access for high-quality women’s healthcare, Specialists in Women’s Care, and Midwest Women’s Healthcare Specialists, have merged with Kansas City Women’s Clinic. These physicians and nurse midwives will offer high-quality, compassionate care for women including high-risk OB/GYN services, pregnancy planning and gynecological care. The providers will continue to practice at Overland Park Regional Medical Center and Research Medical Center, respectively and offer clinic locations in Kansas — Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe, Lansing — and Missouri — Belton, Harrisonville, Kansas City and North Kansas City.

“We are pleased these highly regarded practices joined forces, providing the opportunity for greater access to women’s services,” said HCA Midwest Health President and CEO Keith Zimmerman. “The providers have a similar passion and commitment to excellence for their patients.”

“Kansas City Women’s Clinic has proudly served women in Overland Park since 1953,” said Maggie Smith, MD, OB/GYN. “For 70 years, our practice has been the fabric of the community, thanks to the authentic partnerships our physicians and nurse practitioners have developed with patients. "Specialists in Women’s Care has a rich history of providing our valued patients obstetric and gynecologic services throughout the region,” said Kristi Weaver, DO, OB/GYN. “This merger supports our vision of providing women with the best healthcare in this ever-changing field of medicine. We look forward to the new locations and offerings, providing additional access to our services while maintaining the trusting partnership with our patients.”

"Midwest Women’s Healthcare Specialists is thrilled to partner with Kansas City Women’s Clinic, creating greater opportunities to share best practices and a model benefitting mothers and babies," said Rebecca Wayman, MD, OB/GYN.
