Lymphedema Therapy
Lymphedema is the accumulation of protein rich fluids, toxins and other cellular material within the lymphatic system. As a result of a genetic condition, or more usually following a surgery, your lymphatic system gets affected and doesn't flow as efficiently. The redness and swelling associated with lymphedema can be uncomfortable and even develop into an infection within that area if not treated appropriately. This is where lymphedema therapy can help.
Certified lymphedema therapists help with decompression and return of lymphatic fluid to lymphatic ducts via a variety of methods that will be described upon evaluation. The lymphedema therapist on our staff specializes in breast cancer upper body lymphedema wrapping. If you are needing other lymphedema therapy services you can also be referred to our sister clinic at Menorah Medical Center. They also provide lymphatic and venous wrapping for lower extremity swelling.
