Overland Park, Kan. — HCA Midwest Health today announced three of its hospitals have been named among the prestigious “America’s 250 Best Hospitals,” according to new research released by Healthgrades, the leading resource consumers use to find a hospital or doctor. This achievement puts Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Centerpoint Medical Center, and Menorah Medical Center in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for excellence in clinical performance across the most common healthcare conditions and procedures.

Overland Park Regional Medical Center has been named a Healthgrades® 'America's 250 Best Hospitals' Award™ for two consecutive years (2023-2024). This is the fourth consecutive year Centerpoint Medical Center is a recipient of Healthgrades® 'America's 250 Best Hospitals' Award™ (2021-2024).

Menorah Medical Center has been named a Healthgrades® 'America's 250 Best Hospitals' Award™ for three consecutive years (2022-2024).

Among other accolades from Healthgrades, four HCA Midwest Health facilities were recognized by Healthgrades as leaders among its Hospital Quality State rankings for various specialties. These include Research Medical Center, ranked first in Missouri for stroke care; Centerpoint Medical Center, ranked first in Missouri for surgical care, vascular surgery and critical care; Menorah Medical Center, ranked second in Kansas for orthopedic surgery; and Lee’s Summit Medical Center, ranked second in Missouri for surgical care — all reflecting the hospitals’ commitment to exceptional patient care.

“The prestigious achievement our hospitals have made is a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment that leadership, physicians, nursing teams and support staff have to high-quality specialty care and improvement of human life,” said HCA Midwest Health President Keith Zimmerman. “HCA Midwest Health continuously invests in our facilities and workforce to expand the lifesaving capabilities and technologies we offer patients. We also continue to increase our access points — whether through additional physician practices, new facilities or outreach partnerships — so residents throughout the region can receive the high-quality, compassionate care they need close to home.”

To determine the top hospitals for 2024, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for more than 30 conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. Unlike other hospital studies, Healthgrades ratings are based solely on what matters most: patient outcomes. The 2024 Healthgrades analysis revealed significant variation in hospital performance, making seeking care at top-rated programs increasingly important. From 2020-2022, if all hospitals, as a group, performed similarly to America’s 250 Best Hospitals, on average, 178,402 lives could potentially have been saved.*

“Healthgrades commends Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Centerpoint Medical Center and Menorah Medical Center for their leadership and continued dedication to high-quality care,” said Brad Bowman, MD, chief medical officer and head of data science at Healthgrades. “As three of America’s 250 Best Hospitals, these facilities are elevating the standard for quality care nationwide and ensuring superior outcomes for the patients in their community.”

“This coveted award bestowed on Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Centerpoint Medical Center and Menorah Medical Center for clinical excellence reflects on the roles and contributions all hospital staff members have in keeping the community healthy,” said HCA Midwest Health Chief Medical Officer Kimberly Megow, M.D. “We are proud of the distinction to have three of our hospitals among America’s 250 best and remain humbled by the opportunity to serve communities throughout the region.”
