John McDonald, FACHE

Chief executive officer

John McDonald, FACHE, was appointed chief executive officer of Lee's Summit Medical Center in 2018 and has overseen the 80-bed hospital's continued expansion and growth within the Lee's Summit community. In 2020, the Kansas City Business Journal recognized John as a Next Gen Leader for his innovative leadership. John previously served as chief operating officer for HCA Healthcare's Corpus Christi Medical Center, a 631-bed, five-campus hospital system in Corpus Christi, Texas. Prior to joining HCA Healthcare, John served in executive leadership roles for Northwest Texas Healthcare System. He earned a bachelor's degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University and a master of healthcare administration and an MBA from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in Houston, Texas. He is board certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).


Gabe Clements

Chief operating officer

Gabe Clements has served as chief operating officer of Lee's Summit Medical Center since July 2020 and has been instrumental in the growth and expansion of the hospital. He has also led various employee engagement efforts and served as the hospital's chief diversity and inclusion officer. Gabe previously served as vice president of operations at HCA Midwest Health's Centerpoint Medical Center. Gabe has a background in physical therapy, having served in various rehabilitation and sports medicine leadership roles among HCA Midwest Health hospitals. He earned a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, and a master's degree and doctorate degree in physical therapy from the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.


Paige Baker, RN

Chief nursing officer

Paige Baker was appointed chief nursing officer of Lee's Summit Medical Center in July 2016 to oversee the hospital's nursing operations and its 150-plus nursing staff. A 30-plus-year healthcare veteran, Paige previously served as chief nursing officer of HCA Midwest Health's Research Medical Center and has served in various healthcare management and nursing leadership roles within HCA Midwest Health. Paige earned her diploma in nursing from Saint Luke's School of Nursing and a bachelor's degree and master's degree in nursing from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah.


Jason Schwan

Chief financial officer

Jason Schwan was appointed chief financial officer of Lee's Summit Medical Center in November 2017 and has overseen the hospital's financial functions and growth through various capital and service line expansions. He also serves as the facility's co-ethics and compliance officer. Jason has been part of HCA Midwest Health for more than 20 years, previously serving as controller for Centerpoint Medical Center. Jason earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Lincoln Nebraska.
