Emergency care
Emergency care is the treatment of unexpected, severe medical injuries or infections. It is typically delivered in an emergency room or an ambulance. Our emergency medicine physicians stabilize your condition as quickly as possible to prepare you for the next step of care or discharge.

ER Rapid Care
Centerpoint Medical Center has constructed a new Rapid Care space for patients with severe but non-life-threatening conditions to ensure their needs are met in a more timely manner. Specifically designed to meet the community's need for expedited, comfortable and private care, we provide emergency care without extended wait times.
Our new Rapid Care system is a separate ER track for patients with non-life-threatening symptoms, but who still necessitate a visit to the ER. Conditions commonly treated through Rapid Care include:
- Allergic reactions
- Cough, cold and flu
- Ear infections
- Fractures
- Lacerations
- Minor abdominal pain
- Nausea and vomiting
- Sore throat and fever
- Sprains and strains
- Urinary tract infection
Rapid Care allows patients to move efficiently through the ER with greater privacy and comfort. We also ensure personalized care with a dedicated provider and nurse. Our goal is to send you home with information and any prescriptions you may need to manage your condition while answering your questions along the way.
Emergency care for seniors
As baby boomers age, hospitals are gearing up to accommodate the special needs of older patients. These changes are already beginning to occur in hospital emergency departments, where older adults make 17 million visits annually.
Centerpoint Medical Center is anticipating a growing trend by opening a Seniors Emergency Center. This specially designed and equipped four-room ER addresses older patients' unique medical needs, including a less frenzied atmosphere, thicker mattresses, softer grip flooring and signage with oversized letters.
The nurses who work in the Seniors Emergency Center have all received internal training to help them recognize, diagnose and treat conditions in older patients and even uncover hidden problems.
Care Connect
We're always looking for ways to make healthcare easier to navigate. One of those ways is through Care Connect, which connects you to the right care at the right time and keeps you and your loved ones healthy.
With Care Assure, one of Care Connect's programs, we screen the results of tests performed during an ER or doctor's visit. We use these results to find any warning signs and prevent other emergencies.
If the results of your tests show you're at risk for a potential medical emergency, a specially trained nurse will call you to help you get the care you need for prevention.
Check ER wait times
Receiving prompt care can make all the difference in an emergency. That is why, as part of our commitment to our communities, we broadcast our average ER wait times.
Centerpoint Rapid ER Care
Rapid Care is a process within the Emergency Room improving wait times for patients with non-life-threatening illnesses. The personalized approach unites patients with their nurse and provider to quickly move patients through diagnosis and treatment.
