Teen behavioral health
Taking those first steps into adulthood as a teenager can be immensely difficult. Young adults face a unique set of challenges, and deserve to receive healthcare designed with them in mind, and we are here to help you and your family find peace and safety. Our mission is to bring you the support you need to heal, and that this support will look different for everyone. Our outpatient program is there for you and your family when you need mental healthcare that works with your day-to-day life and commitments, like work, school and family. Inpatient programs focus on providing a safe environment for patients to recognize and address potential underlying emotional issues such as depression, anxiety, anger, stress or low self-esteem. Patients who are admitted for inpatient services are strongly encouraged to step down into our Partial Hospital and Intensive Outpatient Programs to continue their treatment.
The outpatient support program is best suited for people with conditions like depression, anxiety and mood disorders. If you choose to be part of our outpatient therapy program, you may even find that having the active support of coworkers, friends and family in your daily life will help you feel better sooner.
Outpatient services
Thanks to our versatile team of mental health professionals, we are able to offer flexible outpatient programs that can be built to suit your specific needs. We offer two primary structures of outpatient care: Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and the adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
Our adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
The Partial Hospitalization Program helps you and your family members when your emotional or behavioral health affects your ability to function at home and at school. PHP offers you the daily intensive treatment available as an inpatient, but you can go home every afternoon to continue the healing process with family and friends. PHP offers the highest level of outpatient therapy and creates a strong, structured environment that fosters recovery.
PHP sessions are held Monday through Friday, from 9:30am until 3:00pm.
Our adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOP provides an intermediate level of care for teens between 12 and 18 years old. It brings regularly scheduled therapy and other supportive care into your daily life so that you can find stability and care while also continue attending classes and taking part in other normal activities. When you are struggling with mental health, and individual therapy alone can't bring you the relief you deserve, IOP creates a support system that allows for your life to continue with the additional help and balance that our team provides.
Our program is led by an experienced team that uses evidence-based clinical programming to provide you and your family with new ways to confront and overcome challenges you may encounter in everyday life.
Services we offer teens in IOP include:
- Psychiatric evaluation
- Medication management when needed
- Structured group therapy with a licensed clinician 3 evenings weekly
- Family-centered participation one evening weekly
- Cognitive-behavioral therapy
- Dialectical behavior therapy
- Interpersonal effectiveness skills building
- Behavioral life skills training
These IOP sessions are held every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at Research Medical Center Brookside Campus. When you arrive, park in Lot C.
