“Each person’s battle with cancer requires a unique and individualized approach to ensure the best possible outcome both in treating their cancer and in maximizing quality of life.”
Peter Van Veldhuizen, MD, Genitourinary Oncologist

The Genitourinary (GU) program of the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at HCA Midwest Health brings specialized cancer care for patients with cancers affecting the urinary tract system and male genital tract. We offer clinical expertise in GU malignancies such as prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular, penile, adrenal, nonmalignant tumors of the urinary tract and male reproductive system, and Von Hippel Lindau disease (VHL).

We provide personalized cancer care based on your specific type of cancer. Through genetic profiling of your tumor to help guide the treatment, and through access to the latest clinical research trials and novel therapies, we can help ensure you have the best resources available as you fight your cancer.

A multidisciplinary approach to patient care helps not only ensure the best treatment for your tumor but also provides emotional support, long-term care and follow-up throughout your cancer journey. And, through our comprehensive genetic counseling program we can offer an assessment of future risks to you and your family.
