Dr. Steve Marso - Program director
Steven P. Marso, MD, is chief medical officer for HCA Midwest Health cardiovascular services. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Marso brings a breadth of cardiovascular expertise to his role of enhancing and growing the heart services offered by HCA Midwest through its hospitals, Midwest Heart and Vascular Specialists practices and physician service. Prior to joining HCA Midwest Health, Dr. Marso served as Professor of Medicine and Medical Director of the Interventional Cardiology Section at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is board certified in cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology, and is a practicing interventional cardiologist.
Brian Friedman, MD - Associate program director
With more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Friedman treats a wide spectrum of cardiovascular conditions and performs a number of procedures which include: coronary angioplasty and stent implantation, pacemaker implantation, venous ablation and phlebectomy. He has a broad experience in reading and interpreting electrocardiograms, stress tests, echocardiograms, nuclear studies and venous duplex examinations to treat many heart conditions.

Dr. Brian M. Friedman is a board certified interventional cardiologist with Midwest Heart and Vascular Specialists in Overland Park, KS. Dr. Friedman is affiliated with Menorah Medical Center, Research Medical Center, and Overland Park Regional Medical Center. With more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Friedman treats a wide spectrum of cardiovascular conditions and performs a number of procedures which include: coronary angioplasty and stent implantation, pacemaker implantation, venous ablation and phlebectomy. He has a broad experience in reading and interpreting electrocardiograms, stress tests, echocardiograms, nuclear studies and venous duplex examinations to treat many heart conditions. Dr Friedman was an investigator in a number of Research Trials and has published numerous scientific papers in peer reviewed journals and presented at local and national meetings. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and has received professional honors with recognition as one of Kansas City’s Top Doctors.
