Transgender non-binary breast/chest screening event
Let's talk about it
Join us August 3, 2024 from 10:00am to noon at Menorah Medical Center (5721 W 119th Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66209, Entrance C).
What you can get from this event
- Screening mammogram. This type of x-ray is recommended to detect the first signs of cancer. Any person with breast tissue over the age of 40 should be screened annually.
- Risk assessment. An online questionnaire will help determine your personal risk of breast/chest cancer. A lifetime risk greater than 20% means an individual is considered high risk and additional screening might be indicated.
- Genetic testing. Based on family history, some people are at risk for a hereditary cancer syndrome, increasing their chances of breast, prostate, colon, pancreatic and other cancers.
- Cancer screening guidelines. Oncology nurses will be able to answer your questions about screening for colon, cervical, lung, prostate, breast, and skin cancers.
- Cancer prevention. Learn what you can do to stay healthy and prevent cancer.
