Emergency rooms shouldn’t have long wait times. It’s an emergency!
Speed to treatment during an emergency is extremely important and can make a difference in a person’s recovery. If you’re having a medical emergency, call 911. Listen to your body. If your symptoms appear life threatening, don’t drive yourself to the ER, call for an ambulance.
But even if a condition isn’t life threatening, who has time to wait around? You want to get treatment and get on with your day.
Recently, five HCA Midwest Health hospitals made the Becker’s Hospital Review list of the hospitals with the lowest door-to-diagnoses Emergency Department wait times. The list includes hospitals where patients spent an average of five minutes or less in the emergency department before they were seen by a healthcare professional, as listed on Hospital Compare. The list was compiled using data collected between April 2014 and March 2015.
The HCA Midwest Health hospitals on the list were:
- Research Medical Center
- Centerpoint Medical Center
- Lee’s Summit Medical Center
- Belton Regional Medical Center
- Lafayette Regional Health Center
