Over the past few years, residents of Kansas City’s downtown neighborhoods have gained grocery stores, movie theaters, rooftop pools and more. However, one thing lacking was access to urgent medical care. Research Medical Center is now adding that important feature to downtown living (and working) – an urgent care center offering convenient hours and walk-in access to a board-certified physician. The new facility serves as an alternative to the emergency department or when a patient’s regular doctor is unavailable.
Conveniently located in the heart of downtown, Research Urgent Care offers area residents, daytime workers, hotel guests and visitors the convenience of prompt, professional care. It is open during normal business hours, doesn’t require an appointment and accepts all major insurance plans.
Mark Martin, MD, formerly a physician with Lee’s Summit Family Care, serves as the clinic’s medical director in addition to treating patients. Dr. Martin is a board-certified family medicine physician with more than 30 years of experience. He is a past president of the Kansas City and Missouri Academies of Family Physicians. Dr. Martin completed his family medicine residency at Goppert Family Care Center (now Research Family Medicine) in Kansas City.
Dr. Martin is joined at the clinic by Amber Botros, DO. Dr. Botros, a family medicine physician, has special clinical interests in overall women’s healthcare, obstetrics, and adolescent/pediatric medicine. She is a graduate of the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed her residency at Research Family Medicine in Kansas City.
“The residents of Kansas City have long depended on Research Medical Center’s advanced medicine and stellar care,” says Kevin J. Hicks, Chief Executive Officer at Research Medical Center. “We’re pleased to extend our services into the downtown market and offer residents and visitors quick access to a great team of patient-focused professionals.”
Dr. Martin and the staff at Research Urgent Care deliver quality medical care for a variety of conditions ranging from general illnesses, including infections, colds, flu and others, to injuries including fractures, sprains, cuts and more.
Research Urgent Care is located at 920 Main Street and walk-in patients are welcome. The clinic is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. All major insurance plans are accepted. Visit MyMidwestPhysician.com or call (816) 276-6405 for more information.
