On Sept. 26, 2010, Research Psychiatric Center (RPC) welcomed a five day visit from the Excellence in Missouri Foundation examiners following the submission this spring of an application for the Missouri Quality Award.
The Missouri Quality Award recognizes those Missouri organizations that pursue overall performance excellence using the Malcolm Baldrige Management model. Significantly, three of the five 2009 Baldrige award recipients are Missouri organizations.
Recognized as one of the strongest state-level quality award programs in the country, the Missouri Quality award is the official state recognition for excellence in quality leadership. The program, modeled after the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, offers a thorough and objective educational process through which an organization can learn and apply quality implementation techniques and assessment methods.
Research Psychiatric Center was very pleased to have been awarded a site visit following its very first application. Richard Failla, Chief Executive Officer for RPC, says that the Missouri Quality Awards process will be used to drive efforts to provide excellence in psychiatric care at RPC. “As a result of the MQA site visit, we have received recommendations for improvement which will drive our results for the 2011 Quality Pillar’, says Failla.
