Lafayette Regional Health Center, part of HCA Midwest Health System, is inviting patients, families and other patrons to follow the hospital on Facebook and Twitter. Lafayette Regional recently launched a new social media initiative to enhance its communications with patients, families and the community at large.

Lafayette Regional’s Facebook page and Twitter feed will feature the very latest hospital news and information.

These new tools, in combination with Lafayette Regional’s existing communications vehicles such as its web site and community outreach programs, ensure that there are multiple ways the community can stay updated on hospital news. Facebook and Twitter will provide information such as new physicians and services, special events, community events, and other news of interest. Because Facebook and Twitter are two-way communications channels, users can engage in virtual “conversations” and offer feedback.

“We want to be as proactive as possible in providing news and information about our hospital,” says Pam Johnson, Director of Business Development. “Our new Facebook page and Twitter feed will help us accomplish this and effectively complement what we already do to reach out to community. Facebook and Twitter also offer additional ways for our patients, family members and others to share thoughts about the hospital and our services. We’re hopeful that many of our constituents will take advantage of these new tools. ”
