Kevin J. Hicks, president and CEO of Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., has been elected to a second one-year term as president of the Missouri Hospital Association’s Kansas City Metropolitan Healthcare Council. His term began Jan. 1.
As KCMHC president, Hicks’ responsibilities include presiding over council meetings and guiding discussions on association policies and activities. One of six MHA district council presidents, he will direct input from council members on national, state and regional health care policies to the MHA Board of Trustees. District council presidents also select recipients of MHA’s Excellence in Governance awards.

Hicks has more than two decades of experience as a hospital CEO. In addition to his responsibilities as president and CEO of Research Medical Center, he also provides market leadership for Belton Regional Medical Center, Research Psychiatric Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., and Research Medical Center-Brookside Campus.
Hicks received a bachelor’s degree from University of Kansas in Lawrence and a master’s of business administration and a master’s of hospital administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
The Missouri Hospital Association is a not-for-profit association in Jefferson City that represents 153 Missouri hospitals. In addition to representation and advocacy on behalf of its membership, the association offers continuing education programs on current health care topics and seeks to educate the public, as well as legislative representatives, about health care issues.
