WHY: One in eight women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Yet, if caught early, women have a 98 percent chance of beating the disease. Early detection of breast cancer is crucial for successful treatment and a mammogram is the most effective way to detect if anything is wrong. These events are held in recognition of the 28th anniversary of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, including one dedicated to the principals, teachers, PARA professionals and support staff that daily touch the lives of local children.
