WHY: Menorah Medical Center, part of HCA Midwest Health System — Kansas City’s largest healthcare provider — is partnering with the Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves in the first Baskets for Breast Cancer. The event will raise awareness about breast cancer and funds for the American Cancer Society. Basketball players have personally chosen cancer survivors that they know; those individuals will be recognized in a brief program at 7 p.m. prior to tip-off. A silent auction will take place in the school’s commons area during the game through the third quarter; winners will be announced during the game’s fourth quarter.
