Hundreds of employees and NICU graduates from the hospitals of HCA Midwest Health—Kansas City’s leading healthcare provider that delivers more babies than any other Health System will participate in this Sunday’s March of Dimes® March for Babies® walk.

Five HCA Midwest Health teams are participating and to date, thousands of dollars have been raised to align with the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of moms and babies in the Kansas City community and across the nation. As the Presenting Sponsor for the March of Dimes’ March for Babies® walk, HCA Midwest Health encourages employees to help support the cause by fundraising for the walk.

“All babies deserve a healthy start at life, and HCA Midwest Health is proud to join with the March of Dimes to help advance research and clinical practices that promote healthier moms and healthier babies in our community,” says Deb Sheppard, HCA Midwest Health Vice President, Women’s and Children’s Services.

As an affiliate of HCA, HCA Midwest Health is part of a health system that is recognized as a leader in perinatal safety. HCA delivers more babies than anyone else —219,000 in 2016 alone —and uses information from those deliveries to improve care at all HCA affiliates, like HCA Midwest Health and its family of hospitals in Kansas City. HCA and the March of Dimes have worked together to dramatically reduce elective preterm deliveries before 39 weeks.
