Rapid access to care for stroke patients has been proven to improve their chances of recovery. Consistent, standardized care is another factor in improving function and recovery for stroke victims.
Time is of the essence
When you alert an HCA Midwest Health emergency department to a potential stroke patient, they will direct your patient to the facility that best meets their needs based on your assessment and symptom onset.
If you are a healthcare or EMS professional and you need to arrange a patient transfer to one of our stroke centers, call our 2admit transfer line at 1-888-522-3648.
TIA Clinics Specialize in Rapid Evaluation and Consultation
Midwest Stroke Care offers two TIA clinics to help patients who have been diagnosed with a transient ischemic attack or who are at risk for stroke. One is located at Centerpoint Medical Center and the other at Research Medical Center, both of which are Joint commission Primary stroke centers. The goal of the teams at these clinics is to evaluate your patients and report results back to the referring physician in a timely manner.
Why should you sent your patients to one of our TIA clinics?
Instead of your patient having to visit multiple locations for testing and consultation, the TIA clinics provide one-stop service for almost all TIA patients. All of the testing required for TIA patients can be provided in one location on the same day as well as consults by a cerebrovascular neurologist, nutritionist and licensed clinical social worker, if needed.
Results of all patient tests and neurology consultations will be gathered, reviewed and sent back to the patient’s primary care provider. Our TIA clinics teams are available to consult with primary care physicians to formulate the best treatment plan for each patient. For more information or to make a referral, please call 1-877-456-7979.
