Currently Midwest Physicians represent 201 physicians, 102 primary care providers and 99 specialists. We have 53 physician practices providing care in 62 locations to serve our community.

  • Joint Venture

  • Research Belton Hospital
  • The Joint Venture class is designed to provide information for those patients scheduled for upcoming joint replacement surgery at Research Belton Hospital. This three-hour class provides information beginning with preparation for surgery, walks through the surgical process as well as information about recovering from joint replacement surgery. Patients are encouraged to bring a support person to class with them and both will receive a complementary lunch in the hospital cafeteria following the session.

    To register for Joint Venture, please call (816) 348-1231 between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

  • 4-Week Prenatal Class
  • February 1, 2012 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM
  • Allen County Hosptial
  • This 4-week prenatal course occurs every three months on Wednesdays.

    • Week 1: intro, prenatal/labor information, a tour of the OB department, and some infant care.
    • Week 2: CPR for family and continued labor information.
    • Week 3: Infant care, pain management with our nurse anesthetist, Dave Jordan, what to expect during and after delivery and normal look of the newborn with Dr. Spears or Dr. Lohman, and relaxation techniques and positioning with our Doula Jody Mader.
    • Week 4: breastfeeding education with Kathy McEwan.

  • NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program (12 weeks)
  • February 6, 2012 from 6:00PM to 8:30PM
  • Research Psychiatric Center
  • The NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program is a free 12-week course for families and friends of individuals who are dealing with conditions such as ADHD, Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia. The course is taught by trained family members who have lived with this experience. The course teaches the knowledge and skills that family members need to cope more effectively. Class is appropriate for parents, siblings, other family members and significant others of person with severe and persistent mental illness. See flyer for class details.
