HCA Midwest Health System and Allen County Hospital (ACH) today reinforced their commitment to healthcare in southeast Kansas following on Allen County’s successful vote for a tax increase to help fund a new hospital building.

“Allen County residents have chosen to invest in their community by helping fund a new hospital,” said Steve Corbeil, HCA Midwest president. “We’re excited about the new facility, and are committed to working with county leadership to enhance our role in providing quality care to the people of Allen County and southeast Kansas.

“As the area’s only Joint Commission-accredited critical access hospital, Allen County Hospital has long been a valuable resource for southeast Kansas, said Joyce Heismeyer, Allen County Hospital chief executive officer. “The proposed new hospital will provide better energy efficiency and updated equipment and facilities – all of which will enhance the level of care for area residents and allow more patients to access the quality medical care that we provide. This hospital will be a tremendous advantage for our community.”
