Doctors Warn of Cold Weather Dangers

Centerpoint Medical Center February 06, 2014

Dr. Jay Pemberton, assistant ED medical director

Doctors warn people that with extreme cold temperatures on the way, people don’t have to be out in the snow for very long before it can start to affect their health. Dr. Jay Pemberton, assistant ED medical director, Centerpoint Medical Center talked about signs and symptoms with hypothermia and frostbite.  He explained that people who think they're working up a sweat may be more susceptible than they realize. A lot of times, they can get it if they're out exerting themselves and the sweat will actually start pulling the heat away from their bodies.  To find out more about the signs and symptoms, watch the video to hear Dr. Pemberton (via KMBC).
